This tour begins with a panoramic view of
Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo. We then proceed to the Ponte Vecchio
(1345), lined with the shops of some of the best Florentine jewlers. The next
stop is Piazza del Duomo for a visit to the Cathedral and Baptistery, two
of the most important Renaissance monuments. Lunch will be served in a trattoria
specialing in Florentine cuisine. In the afternoon we walk along the Via dei
Calzaiuoli, one of the main shopping streets, to Piazza della Signoria, the
center of political activity since the 14th century. Guests who wish to do
additional shopping will be accompanied to the Via dei Tornabuoni where the
finest fashion shops are located. Tickets to the Uffizi Museum will be arranged
upon request.
